In 1970 there was a name change to Plough FC and in 1974 to Clay Pigeon. In 1978 the name Emjay was adopted followed by a re adoption of the Clay Pigeon title in 1980. Finally, in 1984 Cherry Tree Sports emerged and has held fast. The name changes give a false impression. The Club is well organised, efficiently run outfit that has been able to run three sides when some have struggled with the one. Administration is its strength. Founder rot Beckworth with over 30 years service is still active with in the club as fixtures secretary. Former Club secretary Paul Knowles over 25 years service is still a leading figure.
As Emjay they were managed by former City favourite Harry Gregory, who played in midfield alongside ex Spurs player Peter Collins and the well known Jimmy Stevenson. The start of the 2000-2001 season the club started to go through major transition as to players and management. Geoff Linnett was a long serving member who appeared back in 1976. With Sid Barnes an official of the Club for a number of years with Derek Stone assisting the club slowly grew and enjoyed much success during the late 80' and early 90s. Were Braintree based and were founders of Division Four in 1966/67.An enthusiastic club which stemmed from the hard-working Secretary Tom Vickers and under him won Division Four with a 100% record. Their players included ones who had experience in senior and professional football.
Great Baddow have gone through the divisions and came from the Chelmsford Invitation League where they had won the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy. The club is based upon the Great Baddow Community Association In the Mid Nineties runners up in the Pope and Smith Premier Division Danbury Rovers FC, folded. Many of the players had grown up together and lived or had lived in and around |t Baddow with many playing within the Intermediate League for Gt Baddow. With the enough players wishing to continue playing together and some new players they pushed on. Leaving the invitation League saw them progress rapidly amongst other clubs who themselves have made the Premier. Gt. Baddow in 2000 and 2002 have been perform well below what they expected from themselves, however with the 2002-2003 the club look to have rediscovered players and players their form.

Originally played as Widford Athletic Reserves in the Chelmsford Invitation League, feeling that they were capable as a tem of progressing they removed the obstacle that could prevent this happening. Forming a new club and taking the name from a house on Writtle Green as the club name. Brookhouse, Hutton and Melbourne Utd have made it to the Pope & Smith Premier division from the Invitation League but they re the only team to go all the way every year from Invitation to Div Six and through to the Premier. Strangely their near neighbours Writtle are the only team to go from six to premier winning promotion every year. Play home games from Chelmer Valley School. Found it hard to settle in the Premier in 2001/02 due to change in management and important players being lost through injury. Past and present players: D Tiny, Andrew Ella, Mark Elliott, Lawrence Merriman, Steve Jakes, Martin Young, Miah Levy, Ian Young, Andy Sampson, Tony Leconte. Originally named Highfield Rangers as the majority of players came from in and around Highfield Road. Playing their football in the Maldon Sunday League and Braintree it was decided that with the leagues being dominated by a few clubs the more equally fought out Chelmsford Sunday League would be more competitive. A change of name to Highfield Victoria was due to the club being based from the Victoria Public House. Joining the League in 1980 home fixtures have been played at Sauls Bridge, Maldon Road which is run by the Witham Sports Association. Amongst numerous cups and trophies as well as league successes it worth remembering the rewards given to club Secretary Brian Sayers and former manager Alan Smith, who have received awards of merit. Highfields successes since joining the league are outstanding, gaining promotion at the first hurdle from Division 3, followed by being Division 2 Champions and Division 1 Runners Up in 1984/85. Highfield then won the premier division two seasons in a row. Cup success was also attained Winning the Coward Cup twice, and Premier cup once with runners up no fewer than 3 times. The Clubs greatest successes are in the County Cups, winning the Essex Intermediate Cup in 1989/90 and Runners Up in 1990/91, and are the only Chelmsford Sunday league Club to lift this cup. Previously winning the Essex Junior Cup twice in 1981/82 and 1984/85 and the first club to do so. The Club has no set club colours but unusually they have always kept black shorts and red socks through out. As of the beginning of the 2000/01 season Graham bird had made over 474 games with an additional nine substitute appearances scoring 274 goals. Many of the players grew old together and like many teams saw that maintaining the high standards with players nearing the end of their playing days would become difficult. Other clubs would have folded, however Highfield Victoria showed their good organisation by withdrawing the first team and concentrating on youth with their reserve team under the guidance of the experienced, players. A local youth team Teys Rovers had been playing together from Under 11s and were brought through to the Reserve team and after one or two seasons settling are now starting to show great promise.
